Central West TAFE Certificate III in Automotive Technology students are developing increased levels of motivation for their studies with an innovative project which incorporates the online broadcasting tool You Tube
The 11 Apprentices from the Midwest and Gascoyne regions have gained competency in the unit ‘Repair Automatic Transmissions’ by writing, producing, filming and editing their own instructional documentary for publication on You Tube.
Central West TAFE Lecturer Thomas Buhlmann said, “By incorporating this project into the course schedule we have seen new levels of enthusiasm in the students. They have worked well in a team, planned to work to a deadline, used creativity, developed confidence, communicated well and therefore ultimately we have increased their employability skills”. Thomas continued, “Not to mention it’s also a bit of fun for them”.
Acting Managing Director, Mr David Cohen said, “Central West TAFE staff are continuously developing new and innovative methods to train our students, which is one of the reasons our College is continuously recognised as a training leader in Western Australia”.
